A stylish approach to saving electricity

We've all done it - left the TV on stand-by or the mobile phone plugged into the wall... Despite the fact that numerous studies have shown that these devices continue to consume electricity when we think they have been turned off or have fully charged, we still continue to do it. But all that could change as the next generation of chargers and smart consumer electronics is unveiled to us at CES 2012.

Often referred to as "Vampire" energy to describe the power that is literally sucked out of devices that are plugged into a circuit but seemingly turned off is fast becoming a worldwide concern, as more and more mobile devices are launched and become part of our daily lives.
Electronics accessory manufacturer Brackertron (www.bracketron.com/ ) has already taking up arms with a new range of batteries and chargers to be unveiled at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, next week. Launched under the "Greenzero"name with a pleasant and distinct look, these devices can apparently detect when a gadget is fully charged, and automatically stop providing power. Worth a look and definitely a trend-setter that should alleviate the extra burden that all us gadget geeks are responsible for inflicting on our planet !
